According to the Associated Press, a substitute goalkeeper for Ecuadorian team Guayaquil Barcelona passed away on Tuesday. The 20-year-old substitute goalkeeper, Justin Cornejo, was found unconscious in the bathroom before being taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Justin will always be in our hearts, rest in peace, friend.” Prior to this, the Ecuadorian club had announced the suspension of all team activities. According to the schedule, Guayaquil Barcelona and Bragantino Red Bull are set to face off in the first leg of the South American Cup Round of 16 on July 18th (Beijing time).
